The Courier Cafe and Silvercreek have always focused on fresh quality ingredients for our menus. The Courier Urban Gardens allows us to raise that standard to a new level. In the spring of 2015 we built cedar wood raised beds, filled them with compost and mulch from Urbana Recycle, and watched a garden grow that now produces wonderful fresh produce. Every day we harvest from our gardens and incorporate the produce into our menus, and the salad bar at Courier Cafe.

We also now have beehives on the roof of the Courier and get to taste fresh honey all summer long. The bees are doing very well and seem to be quite happy with their hive near the garden.

Please feel free to walk through the gardens and see what is growing, and know that  it will be part of your future meals.
